Risk disclosure
Last updated 9 October 2026
Realtap gives you information and tools; it does not give advice and cannot protect you from losses. These are the main risks. The list is not complete. See the terms of use for the limits of our responsibility.
1. You can lose all of it
Crypto assets are highly volatile. Prices can fall to zero quickly and without warning. Only use money you can afford to lose, and do not rely on past performance, on rankings or on anything shown here as a prediction.
2. Nobody vets the tokens
Tokens and pools appear on Realtap automatically as soon as they trade. Anyone can create a token, copy the name and logo of a well-known one, add liquidity and remove it again. Some tokens are built so that buyers cannot sell.
Safety scores, risk labels, holder figures and market caps are estimates calculated from public data. They can miss a problem or flag a sound token. A high rank or a clean score is not a recommendation.
3. Liquidity, price impact and order execution
- A displayed price is the price of a small trade. A larger trade in a small pool moves the price against you; check the price impact before you sign.
- On Cardano most DEX orders are placed first and executed later by the protocol's operators. Between the two the price can move: an order can fill at the worst price your slippage setting allows, or not fill at all until you cancel it.
- Market caps of thinly traded tokens can be very large numbers that could never be realised by selling.
4. Smart contracts and protocols
Exchanges, lending markets, perpetuals, marketplaces and fee services run on smart contracts written and operated by third parties. Contracts can contain errors, can be exploited, and can be changed or shut down by their operators. Lending and leveraged positions can be liquidated. Realtap does not audit or control these protocols.
5. Transactions are final
- A signed transaction cannot be undone. Read what your wallet shows before approving it.
- Whoever has your recovery phrase has your funds. Never type it into a website. Realtap never asks for it.
- Check that you are on the real site before connecting a wallet. Look-alike sites exist.
6. Data can be wrong or late
Figures on Realtap are computed by software from blockchain data and third-party sources. They can be delayed, incomplete or incorrect, especially for new tokens, unusual pools and during network congestion. The status page shows whether our systems are up to date.
7. NFTs
NFTs can be hard or impossible to sell. Their images and traits are usually stored outside the blockchain and can change or disappear. Floor prices are the lowest current asking prices, not what a sale will achieve.
8. Law and tax
Rules for crypto assets differ between countries and change. Using a token, a protocol or this site may be restricted where you live, and your transactions may be taxable. Finding out and complying is your responsibility.
